4.     “Beidou Cup” National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition

Date:             22 Aug 2022 (Mon)- Award ceremony

Nature:          Competition

Theme:         Bei dou satellite

Beneficiary:   Secondary school students and university students

“Beidou Cup” National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition (BD-CASTIC)

Since 2010, it has been jointly sponsored by the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education, the Central School Department of the Communist Youth League, the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, and the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, and undertaken by the Satellite Navigation Joint Research Center of the Ministry of Education and the Digital China Research Institute of Peking University.

The competition is divided into middle school groups and university groups, including prefecture-level and provincial-level trials, sub-divisions (East China, South China, Central South, North China, Southwest, Northwest, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and eight international sub-divisions) preliminary rounds, and three stages of the national finals.

As an important part of the China Satellite Navigation Academic Annual Conference, the competition has received strong support from the Scientific Committee of the China Satellite Navigation Academic Annual Conference. Nearly 30 academicians of the two academies in this field) are the final judges.

The competition actively guides young people to take the time and space of the satellite navigation system as the cornerstone, integrate optical, acoustic, electrical, magnetic, mechanical inertial, and other physical means, and integrate wired, wireless, interconnection, IoT, sensing, supercomputing, artificial intelligence, etc. Network digital systems and intelligent technologies form information standards and resources that can be complementary, exchangeable, substitutable, and shared, form a new generation of information technology with space-time technology as the main line, form an emerging intelligent information industry, and form a connection and integration All new space-time service system to realize all spaces including underground (and underwater) and deep space, sea, land, air and sky, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and indoor and outdoor, above and below all environmental conditions. Time and space information is ubiquitous in intelligence, real-time dynamics, and all-around innovation of inclusive shared services.

5. The Very First AI Quadrupedal Robot (HKSAR) (April -December 2022)

Date:             April 2022 to  Oct 2022

Nature:          Quadrupedal robot

Theme:         Competition

Beneficiary:   Secondary school students

Nowadays, design, development, and motion planning of a mobile robot explore research areas in the field of robotics. Mobile robots have an extensive area of applications in various fields like space exploration, military application, industrial use, and many more.

Hence, the design and development of a mobile robot is a crucial part of the above

application. Among all the mobile robot, the quadrupedal robot is a legged robot, which is superior to wheeled and tracked robot due to its potential to explore in all the terrain like the human and animal.

Knowing that technology creates the future and entering the digital age, e-learning is

being implemented all over the world. Therefore, it is recommended that the government strengthen the information network infrastructure of all schools in Hong Kong, as soon as possible to include STEAM, programming and artificial intelligence as compulsory subjects in primary and secondary schools to enhance the competitiveness of the next generation.

This competition is a Quadrupedal robot express delivery competition (medium-sized), through the competition to test Quadrupedal robot on the visual perception ability, handling ability and movement performance. Require Quadrupedal robot imitation from the express distribution center, walks clockwise along the delivery route, and delivers the express box to the designated location.

The purpose of this competition is to guide the team to research and design with

excellent hardware and Quadrupedal robot of the software system cultivates the

algorithm design ability and task planning with team members.

Planning and optimization capabilities to examine the motion performance, anti-interference performance, and algorithm stability of participating Quadrupedal robot.

6.    HK Fostering ICT Award Scheme (1 Sept 2022 to 30 July 2023)

Date:             1 Sept 2022 to 30 July 2023

Nature:          Award Scheme

The 2nd Hong Kong Fostering ICT Awards Scheme  第二屆全港孕育資訊科技獎勵計劃(孕科獎

There will be an Attainment of Gold, Silver and Bronze Award Scheme for The 2nd Hong Kong Fostering ICT Awards Scheme. Those schools and students achieve certain hours of free workshops and programs will receive the pin and allow to use the program’s official logo in promotion materials.

Through attending our program, HKNETECF would like to increase interest of secondary schools in new emerging ICT such as get a taste of the technology theme of artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, big data and how to make use of government open data (including COVID-19 data, smart lampposts data etc…). HKNETECF Fostering New Emerging ICT Program not only teach students the concepts but also emphasis on how much students can apply the concepts. There will be mentorship and experts sharing to know more about the IT industry field, tertiary education programmes introduction seminar etc. After all the seminars and sharing, HKNETECF will organize a competition to compete in the theme of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Big Data.

The program is not only a reward to participants’ endeavour, but also a means to lead their works into the industry and the public. We believe the social recognition from Hong Kong Fostering ICT Awards Scheme would in still a sense of achievement to them, thus to further develop their potentials.
